Rising on Fourth Avenue in the heart of Greenwich Village, 112 is a five-story Italianate cast-iron loft whose façade has been carefully restored and brought back to its original presence on the street.

Behind it sit eight boutique residences and a single ground-floor retail space — a small, intentional collection where the architecture of the nineteenth century meets the comfort and detail of a contemporary condominium.

It was built in 1872 by Griffith Thomas, called by the American Institute of Architects the most fashionable architect of his generation, whose work anchors the historic districts of SoHo, NoHo, Tribeca, and Ladies' Mile. In the century and a half since, No. 112 has housed lithographer Henry Atwell Thomas, the publishing house of Macmillan & Co., and a succession of writers, artists, and printers — a working building at the center of the Village's literary life.
